Established in 2002, Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy, Yamuna Nagar is one of the pioneering pharmacy institutes in Northern India. It has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Directorate of State Technical Education, Haryana and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Situated in the heart of the city, it has beautifully landscaped campus with a pollution free environment.
The College is being governed by Guru Nanak Khalsa College Managing Committee, registered under the Societies Act-1986. The Managing Committee is also governing the multifaculty Guru Nanak Khalsa Post Graduate College (Accredited as A+ by NAAC), Guru Nanak Khalsa Institute of Technology & Management Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Institute of Technology & Management Studies for imparting instructions to MCA & MBA classes, respectively. It is working under the dynamic leadership of the great visionary S. Bhupinder Singh Ji Jauhar, who besides being a leading industrialist of the country is a great philanthropist and a man of international repute. His love for the cause of social welfare & education is apparent from the fact that he is associated with a large number of societies such as Sikh Education Society, Chandigarh, International Punjabi Society and World Punjabi Organisation besides serving on the Boards of Governors of a myriad of highly reputed institutions of higher learning
Besides S. Bhupinder Singh Ji Jauhar, the Board of Governors of the college comprises of several luminaries including educationists, jurists, industrialists, social activists, technocrats, bureaucrats & agriculturists.
The college has a spacious building with well equipped 10 Laboratories having latest sophisticated instruments for providing excellent training to the students. Other facilities include a Seminar Hall, a Museum, an Animal House, a Medicinal Plant Garden (with large variety of medicinal plants). The college has a well stocked computerized Library with more than 2200 books, 11 National & International Journals and 02 Magazines. In addition to the above facilities for imparting instructions to the students, the college has a Hostel, a spacious Sports ground, a Gymnasium and a Canteen. A qualified Doctor visits the campus regularly.
The college has engaged well qualified Teaching Faculty including a Professor with long teaching & research experience in medicinal chemistry. The members of faculty are dedicated in imparting quality education to the students. To highlight some of the achievements in this direction it is worthwhile to mention that out of 28 students of our first batch who appeared in 2006 in the B.Pharmacy Part-IV examination of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, 24 got First Division. It is also a matter of pride for us that Ms. Suman Bala got First Position in the University in B.Pharmacy Part-IV-2006. A sizable number of students of this college qualify GATE examination every year. It is also heartening to note that at this young age the college was selected by the AICTE for organizing a National Level Seminar.
Besides classroom teaching and practical training, the students are also encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities including Celebration of Pharmacy Week, Poster Making Competition, Pharma Quiz competition and Cultural programmes. They regularly participate in activities organized by other institutions such as Blood Donation Camps and various spiritual and religious functions organized by the Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar.
The management encourages its teachers to improve upon their qualifications. Four of the faculty members are registered for Ph.D degree as part time research scholars in different universities. The teachers are also encouraged to attend the National & International Seminars, Symposia & Conferences to update their knowledge.
