 UGC recognises excellence

In recognition to our commitment to quality education the University  Grants Commission has given the college a grant of Rs. 110 lacs to upgrade its Science Departments. 

  • Recognised as a college with potential for excellence
    • The University Grants Commission has awarded the status of a college with Potential for Excellence. The college has received a grant to the tune of Rs. 60 lacs for strengthening its infra structure and for creating better learning opportunities.

  • Topmost NAAC grading in Haryana

      Accredited A+ (A Plus) Institution by UGC body NAAC (Natioanal Assessment and Accreditation Council), Bangalore in 2004. We are the only post graduate college to receive this prestigious grade in Haryana.

  • And the best college award goes to ... Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar

      Declared the over all best Non-Govt. co-educational College by Kurukshetra University, Kurushetra on account of its brilliant achievements in education, sports, community service and cultural activities for the session 2003-04.

  • Highly qualfied and experienced Faculty

      More than 53 teachers hold Ph.D degree and are doing quality research committed to students' overall development. Two teachers, Dr. P.K. Malik and Dr. Rajinder Singh Walia have got the prestigious research award of the UGC in the subjects of Commerce and English with an outlay of 23 Lakhs. Dr. P.K. Malik, Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Sanjay Arora, Dr. Vijay Sharma, Dr. Diljeet Kaur, Dr. N.S. Virk have got UGC Major Research projects in different subjects and scores of other faculty members have succesfully completed Minor research projects.  

  • Leader in sports activities

      Strong presence in sports in Haryana. The College has annexed Kurukshetra University sports championship consecutively for 22 years in the Women section and 21 years in the Men section. Two of our students have scaled the Mountain Everest and dozens of them have represented the country in International Sports Championships.

  • Remarkable achievements in NCC

      Our NCC units have been consistently winning many NCC competitions. The NCC officers Dr. H.S. Kang and Dr. Amrit Kaur have been commended by D.G. N.C.C. and Kurukshetra University respectively. In the past few years more than 15 students have joined the Indian Army as officers.

  • Commitment for Community Welfare

      The college has won the Governor Award ten times for promotion of blood donation and sports activities in Haryana.
